Eroticism or pornography?

This is the timeless but highly relevant question of our day, with potential legal and business ramifications in addition to philosophical significance. In essence, sexuality is a question of interpretation, as the field is as vast as the depictions of it in art, literature, or sculpture.

These days, rules are established regarding what is and is not acceptable. Naturally, this is a desirable and positive thing. Protecting youth is one thing, but it's also important to establish boundaries, of course.

It must be acknowledged, though, that no one can know what goes on in their neighbor's bedroom, so let the person who has never used the words "cock" or "cunt" during intercourse be the first to criticize.

One clue, for example, is the exact description of sexual acts and the appropriate choice of words.

It's worth noting that the days of turning off the lights during sex are long gone, and as far as the choice of words is concerned - see above. Many people talk completely differently during sex than they do in everyday life, and some people slip out words that they supposedly didn't even know before.

Describing practices that violate so-called “good taste” or “social values” can also be classified as pornography. Of course, not everyone is into golden showers, but do you know who is? Anal is not everyone's cup of tea either, but studies show that 30-50% of all women have tried it at least once. So what? Those who like it should do it, and those who like it should be allowed to read about it.

How detailed you describe scenes is, of course, also a question, but I think that's what gives it its kick, that's what gets your head spinning, and that brings us back to the point—detailed, yes, but not tasteless. There are so many names for a woman's private parts, so you don't necessarily have to say tw... You can also hold back when it comes to sounds, smells, and the like. Not everything you can describe has to be described in detail.

I always try to focus on the story first, because even in short stories it's the most important thing, and the sex is the icing on the cake, so to speak. But it's never just about the fucking scenes for me - they're always wrapped up in a story, and there are always feelings involved.

I think the discussion is exaggerated. What is needed is the protection of minors; that's not a question at all. What is also needed is a ban on any depiction of sex with children or young people, incest, or bestiality - these are all things that have nothing to do with eroticism or the joy of sex. But how and when and how often adult people have sex with each other and how this is described, drawn, filmed, or otherwise depicted is for the consumer to decide. Nobody is forced to watch anything they don't like.
