When people find out that I write erotic stories in addition to my main activity - writing essays, political and historical reportage - I am often met with sudden rejection or at least looked at askance.

This is the timeless but highly relevant question of our day, with potential legal and business ramifications in addition to philosophical significance. In essence, sexuality is a question of interpretation, as the field is as vast as the depictions of it in art, literature, or sculpture.
